- 1/1995 הוכרז על תקן בינלאומי למגרסות. התקן קבע 5 רמות בגריסת נייר, את שימושיהם העיקריים ואת המפרט המדוייק של כל אחת מהקטגוריות. גופי ממשל רבים, כמו גם חברות, ארגונים ויועצי בטיחות רבים אימצו את התקן החדש ומשתמשים בו במהלך קבלת החלטות לגבי מידת הסודיות הנדרשת במסמכים שונים.
